The American swimmer David Yudovin completed in six and a half hours the crossing between the islands of Fogo and Brava.
The crossing is considered one of the more challenging crossings in Cape Verde spanning 19km.
Yudovin launched himself into the sea at 6am, from Fonti-Bila beach, St. Philip. And with the help of good sea conditions completed the crossing in 6 hours.
According to his Portuguese manager the swimmer swan the crossing in accordance with US sports law which prohibits the use of impermeable suits and fins and was accompanied by two vessels.
