Cidade Velha pays homage

UCCLA general secretary Miguel Aacoreta Correia heads the list of those to be distinguished, a list that also includes the late poet Mário Fonseca, University of Cape Verde president António Leão Correia e Silva, the United States Ambassador to Cape Verde Marianne Myles and the Brazilian Ambassador to Cape Verde Maria Dulce Barros.

Also among the personalities to be honored are a number of mayors from Portugal and Cape Verde, including Praia mayor Ulisses Correia e Silva. The ceremony will take place at the ruins of the São Francisco Convent at 9:00 am.
