1,640 students given support

The São Vicente municipal chamber has made a total of 8,035,000 escudos available to subsidize tuition and transportation costs and to finance school supplies and uniforms.

Of this total, 6,920,000 are being channeled into higher education and private secondary education, while 2,115,000 go to public elementary and secondary education.

Of the 1,640 students benefiting, 133 attend university, 27 attend private high schools and 1,500 attend public elementary and secondary schools.

Nine of the 133 college-level students benefiting from the funds are municipal chamber employees.
