Cidade Velha: previously unknown ruins found

“Sewage work in Cidade Velha ended up resulting in the discovery of an unknown physiognomy in Ribeira Grande de Santiago that is very different from the current layout of the town, in which the luxury and wealth of the golden age of Cape Verde’s first capital reigned,” archeologist Christopher Evans has told Portuguese news agency Lusa.
